Balance Basics

Ten minutes on one leg — the skill that compounds.

10 minutesGentlebeginnerNeeds: Nothing, Wall

Balance is the most trainable skill in this library and the one with the highest quality-of-life return, especially past forty. It improves within weeks of regular practice, and this ten-minute circuit is the regular practice.

Stand within reach of a wall or counter for every pose. Touching it isn't cheating — it's how you stay in the pose long enough to train instead of hopping out of it.

Breath

Fix the gaze on one unmoving point and keep the breath smooth — the two secrets of every balance.

To finish

Note which side wobbled more. It'll be more even within two weeks of daily practice.
